Your Orangery
Today the term ‘orangery’ usually refers to a sizeable extension made from
timber – or, less frequently, stone,
uPVC or
aluminium – with a glazed roof and walls, often with large sash windows.
Orangeries were traditionally used in northern Europe to cultivate delicate and exotic plants, such as citrus fruit. While such
use remains relevant today, the light and airy nature of an oragnery makes it a versatile extension to any main building.
